Initial Thoughts and Ideas:

First Artist/style inspo
|
Charlie Davis is the first Artist with this vector illustration type style was pointed out to me, with his inspo I aimed to create a clean, 3d illustration.
Lisa Tegtmeier was also pointed out to me, with her art I wanted to produce a very modern and clean illustration.

On my search for an aesthetic to take forth for this project I came across Artem Novikov who created a beautiful beer can design which has a very strong wood cut inspired look, this remined my of the type designs west walls has for their cans. The use of strong line is something I believe will communicate well with west walls establish brand.

|
For more research on this type of illustration I looked at Pam Wishbow who creates a very similar style that I am going for.

Thoughts of doing something including a Dragon, as 2024 was the Chinese year of the dragon and West Walls smashed their goals during that time.

After Crit with Dwayne, he told me to copy more of Pam Wishbow's art to get a better understanding of her process and style.

My last illustration (above and the left) and mock up represented the style I wanted to go for, it just needed more refinement.
So I went back to thumbnailing a design for the can, then to drawing the final out. |
