This Breif was given to us by Baxter and Bailey. We were tasked to create a set of Special Stamps as if being commissioned by Royal Mail (one of their regular clients) For our themes we were randomly given one out of a list, I got British Animation.
I liked the idea of either The Gruffalo or The Boy. The Mole, The Fox and The Horse or TAWOG. I watched both these films and made notes of details to get ideas for a direction for them. Along with looking for more ideas.
After the briefing from Baxer and Bailey themselves, I decided to look into more creative ways to achieve this breif.
I stayed with my The boy, The Mole, The Fox and the horse idea and wanted to still do landscape illustrations of the characters in their 'homes'.
I started doing proper illustrations of the characters. I watercoloured them, and added a blue ink pen outline.
I edited and finished the illustrations on a digital software.
I also tested out a different style to so the illustrations in.
After a talk with Zoe I decided to crop and clear the background images of the watercolours, as well as edit and crop the sketch versions.
For the hand stamps and packaging I did some extra illustrations as well as hand written type to use for the title.
Finally, I added the Kings head to the stamps and the value.
