Paint

​Third medium we were introduced to was paint. this consisted of water colour, acrylic and gauche. We needed to make notes of specific artists who use these medias to learn from their work and notice the techniques in their paintings to take inspiration from.

​I started with water colour and looked at Jordan Rhodes as well as 'HamRib Art' on youtube. Using these artists skills in portrait painting I created:

Not liking anything I made I looked at Francis Bowyer and created some still life's.
Looking at the bold application of paint and strong sense of shadows I created some portraits and still life's.

Gauche

​Then for Gauche I looked at George Clauson, Stepan Kolesnikov and Stephen Conroy.

​I used a more dry brush technique to create these drawings inspired by George Clauson and i liked this way of using the paint the most.

Self Portrait:

For my self portrait in Gauche I looked at Jorden Rhodes again as I felt the most comfortable applying colour in the same way he did. Building colour up and using strong  saturation. 
I also studied the strong lines Stephen Conroy uses in his paintings, i liked the realistic outcome, built by simple lines and shadows.
